Rehab Specialties was born from a “need”. Owner Paul Pitney, having worked closely with many physical and occupational therapists and nurses, realized that there really wasn’t a market for in-home access, safety and mobility. Paul takes a great deal of pride in providing quality products and workmanship, and believes that customer service is paramount. Having closely worked with numero9us physical therapists, occupational therapist, nurses and rehab professionals, Rehab Specialties filled a “need” in the home access safety and mobility market.

“I don’t know anyone who does this!” was a phrase heard from every rehab professional that Paul came in contact with. It didn’t take long to realize that a great “need” existed in the aging population. Hence Rehab Specialties was born.

Owner Paul A. Pitney is a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management at Southern Connecticut State University and licensed CT Home Improvement Contractor with over a decade of experience creating safe home environments. Paul also holds a BS Degree in Business Management for Southern Connecticut State University. He has worked in hospital acute care settings, sub-acute rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and out patient rehabilitation centers.

Paul has been recognized as a “Person of the Year” my the mayor’s committee on people with disabilities, a group created to assist those with disabilities who cannot afford home access, safely and mobility needs. Paul has made numerous equipment and labor hour donations to those in need.

Paul takes a great deal of pride in providing quality products, excellent workmanship and believes that customer service is paramount.
